Rev Up Detoxification Process

by Parmjit Singh

Squatting Posture: Utkatasana

In order for physical body to function properly, it needs to keep its detoxification process in full gear so that toxins are regularly thrown out. Progressive build-up of these toxins can create a breeding ground for various ailments. Federal Drug Administration (FDA) estimates that over the period of a life-time, people tend to accumulate an abnormal build-up of compacted fecal matter in their bodies due to compromised process of detoxification. This can lead to the increase in body weight and other bodily problems. The following posture, if practiced regularly, can help you rev up this process and keep your body free from toxins.

Execution
Stand straight with your feet together (a). Once you have balanced your weight on your feet, stand on your toes with your heels raised as high as possible (b). Then slowly sit down on your heels without lowering them to the ground (c). In this, your whole weight will be balanced on your toes. Place your hands on your knees and your thighs should be parallel to the ground. Stay in this posture without undue exertion. Allow your breathing to be deep and comfortable.

Benefits
This posture has multiple effects. It is known to have an excellent effect on cleansing processes. It also helps to facilitate continence by pacifying sex centers and develops a correct posture for the spine. In addition, it helps to tone up the muscles of toes, ankles, feet and legs.

Note: Practice these postures under specialist supervision.

Harnessing Mindfulness

Good Morning Parmjit
I apologize for taking so long in contacting you.  I wanted to let you know that the evaluations sheets we handed out after you did the session for our Divisional Day (way back in October) were all excellent.  Every single staff person who attended your session was very pleased with it. They all found it very relaxing and said that they would enjoy a further session and recommend you to other departments who were having a department day similar to the one you presented your session at.

Also, I should mention that you may in the very near future hear from one of my co-workers asking you to do a session for our individual team. She is working on the logistics with our manager to see what we can do about having you come to one of our
meetings.

Once again, I want to thank you for the wonderful session you did for us and wish you the best in 2009.
